1964 was the first year for the Kennedy half and the last year that 90% silver coins were released for circulation, making these the only 90% silver Kennedy halves to be put into general circulation (1965-70 Kennedys were struck in 40% silver). Though far from rare, original unopened rolls such as these are becoming hard to find in any quantity. When we broke open one roll to photograph we were pleasantly surprised by the quality. When we got past the typically toned end coin we found mostly white coins looking much like the day they were minted. The coins generally grade MS-64 and higher with many making at least MS-65.
